The Gospels, Part 10

Saturday, March 30
Byron Theatre, Robert & Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts
3 PM and 7 PM Shows

FOUR WRITERS (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)
with FOUR PERSPECTIVES (tax-collector, apprentice to disciple Peter, non-Jewish doctor , fisherman) wrote Jesus’ story for FOUR AUDIENCES (Jews, Romans, Greeks, early Christians).

Our show starts on That Friday Morning – when Jesus had already been betrayed, denied, falsely accused, physically abused, and affixed to a Roman cross like a sacrifice on an altar.

He was still alive – but only barely.

He – the Way, the Truth, and the Life – literally hung in the balance as hope leaked away with each of His last labored breaths. The four Gospel writers take us to the cross, the tomb, the Resurrection, and the glorious, joyous Ascension!

About Blue Gospel Scripts

Blue Gospel Scripts takes a proven, layered multimedia approach for making a message memorable and applies that to the world’s overwhelming Biblical illiteracy.

It’s the whole Bible in episodes, using monologues, media, and music to reveal God’s Word in a powerfully dynamic and refreshingly creative way.

  • A multimedia stage performance, about 75 minutes long
  • Excellence from musicians and speakers
  • “Blue Gospel” songs which enhance the story and sometimes alter perspective
  • A short video to show current relevance
  • Humor (mostly dry, but sometimes downright silly)
  • To leave with a fresher understanding of God’s power throughout history and the timeless implications of the Good News.

2018: June 6, Sep 5, Dec 8
2019: TBD

Blue Gospel Scripts is best suited for middle school through early retirement.

  • You’ve read the Bible a million times but want new perspective
  • You like live music by professional musicians
  • You have questions about what the Bible actually says
  • You enjoy shows at the Buell or the Ellie
  • You feel like something is missing
  • You’re part of a Bible study but want to grow as a community and explore a new way to learn
  • You know someone who doesn’t know who David, Tamar, Isaiah, Luke, or Paul were – or YOU don’t know and want to find out
  • You believe “God helps those who help themselves” is a Bible verse (spoiler alert… it’s not).

Blue Gospel Scripts shows are free – because we think no one should ever have to pay to hear the Good News – but donations toward future performances are definitely (gratefully) accepted… and tax-deductible!

  • “America can be proud of many things: our innovation, generosity, and entrepreneurial spirit are unsurpassed. Yet when it comes to our nation understanding one of the greatest gifts ever given to humanity – the Bible – we are moving from dumb to dumber… and it’s no laughing matter.”

Sacred Partnerships

Blue Gospel Scripts actively seeks partnerships with local churches and ministers looking for structured opportunities designed to help their members grow in knowledge of the Word.

This collection of Biblical episodes constitutes a powerful outreach opportunity for congregants from all around the Denver Metro area who want to invite friends, family and co-workers into a relationship with the God of the Bible. We gratefully steer those newly awakened to God’s work and community toward a great Biblically based gathering in their neck of the woods.
