Peter graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from Cal State University Long Beach, then immediately moved to Colorado. A baker’s dozen years later, he earned his Master’s degree in double bass performance from the University of Northern Colorado. Thinking more education would be great fun, he moved to Chicago to play co-principal bass with the Civic Orchestra and study at DePaul University. He had a brief stint teaching at Millikin University, followed by 18 months with the Les Mis national tour and a return to Colorado to participate in his favorite and most important production: his amazing son!
From recording at Caribou Ranch to performing at Red Rocks, churches, stadiums, theatres, concert halls, and jazz clubs across the USA and Canada, Peter thrives on the variety of music he has participated in making.
He’s been blessed to perform with inspiring musicians including Aaron Copland, The Carpenters, Clark Terry, Michael Brecker, Karl Denson, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Yefim Bronfman, Edgar Meyer, Bobby McFerrin, Pierre Boulez, Daniel Barenboim, Kurt Elling, Dave LeMieux and comedians Phyllis Diller and Flip Wilson, among others.
He enjoys traveling and watching hockey and Formula One racing.
